Put 2 comedians, 3 speakers, lots of parents and grandparents together for a weekend, ready to play and learn from God's Word and what do you get? A fabulous time!!! Had the great honor of sharing the stage on Friday night with a huge hero---Bob Stromberg, the creator and original actor of Triple Espresso, the longest-running stage show in San Diego. I spoke and he did his comedy show after, and we had a wonderful time of connecting. Triple Espresso is still running in 13 cities around the US, and he said when a new venue opens, the original 3 actors go in for a week or so to open it up. His individual comedy show was hilarious. Our brochure is attached here. The next day I did Beulah and spoke for 2 sessions, and one grandmother came up to me afterwards, hugged me, and whispered in my ear, "Thank you. That was exactly what I needed." Another grandpa came up in tears and told me how seriously he took his job of grandparenting. One of the pastors wrote this week in an email: "I want to thank you for leading the Grand-parenting Conference this past weekend. I’m sorry I wasn’t there to hear you, however I have heard many good things from those who attended. There is talk of doing another in the future. I will be talking to you again." Praise God. To HIM be the glory! "Based on comments, many were alarmed to be having so much fun and were able to observe faith through joy with the emphasis on all the gifts we receive from our Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN!"
We performed for 200 women, and one pastor, at their annual Christmas celebration and outreach. You can only imagine how Bessie picked on the pastor. At one point, he got down on his knees and leaning on his chair, started praying outloud. Only to be joined by Bessie in a Come-To-Jesus moment. Hysterical! Blessed us with a standing ovation. We need prayer for the upcoming week, and would so appreciate them for: 1. Tuesday night, Dec. 4th, 9:30 p.m. Late night comedy hour for the Christian Camp & Conference Association's annual conference in San Diego. 750 camp directors and staff members of the camps. 2. Thursday 11:30 a.m., Dec. 7th, a private Ladies' Luncheon in Newport Beach. This is a first: playing a diva Mrs. Claus and her agitated assistant, mingling with attendees. Can you guys see Katie as this agitated assistant? She will rock! 3. Thursday 7 p.m., Dec. 7th, Bonita Valley Community Church, San Diego. The church's Christmas party and outreach. Once again, thank you for your prayers. We praise God for using our show for His glory! I cannot thank you enough for your prayers for Tuesday night at Crown of Life Lutheran. It was a glorious night! The sanctuary was packed to overflowing, the tables were beautiful, Beulah was a hit (one woman told me she couldn't remember when she laughed so hard), and the gospel went forth, in spite of a microphone that decided to drop off my ear and not want to stay on right during the most crucial part of presenting salvation through the Cross. I really felt it was an attempt from Satan to thwart the gospel being presented, and knew that at the same time, through prayer and obedience, it would get done. And it did! Praise God!
