We performed for 200 women, and one pastor, at their annual Christmas celebration and outreach. You can only imagine how Bessie picked on the pastor. At one point, he got down on his knees and leaning on his chair, started praying outloud. Only to be joined by Bessie in a Come-To-Jesus moment. Hysterical! Blessed us with a standing ovation. We need prayer for the upcoming week, and would so appreciate them for: 1. Tuesday night, Dec. 4th, 9:30 p.m. Late night comedy hour for the Christian Camp & Conference Association's annual conference in San Diego. 750 camp directors and staff members of the camps. 2. Thursday 11:30 a.m., Dec. 7th, a private Ladies' Luncheon in Newport Beach. This is a first: playing a diva Mrs. Claus and her agitated assistant, mingling with attendees. Can you guys see Katie as this agitated assistant? She will rock! 3. Thursday 7 p.m., Dec. 7th, Bonita Valley Community Church, San Diego. The church's Christmas party and outreach. Once again, thank you for your prayers. We praise God for using our show for His glory! Because of you and your prayers, this is what we received after our show on Nov. 13th for Sharp Hospice: From the Vice President: Thank you so very much for bringing laughter and joy to our hospice staff last Tuesday! You are very funny ladies who really know to cheer on a crowd!!! I have heard so many positive words about your performance and the difference it made in their hearts. From the event planner: Hi Katie and Becky! Thank you so much for participating in the Sharp Hospice Month Celebration. Our staff was thoroughly entertained and you brought the laughter we had hoped for in to the room! God is good and faithful!!! I cannot thank you enough for your prayers for Tuesday night at Crown of Life Lutheran. It was a glorious night! The sanctuary was packed to overflowing, the tables were beautiful, Beulah was a hit (one woman told me she couldn't remember when she laughed so hard), and the gospel went forth, in spite of a microphone that decided to drop off my ear and not want to stay on right during the most crucial part of presenting salvation through the Cross. I really felt it was an attempt from Satan to thwart the gospel being presented, and knew that at the same time, through prayer and obedience, it would get done. And it did! Praise God! "His Word is not chained!" The Picnic at the Lake in Bluff Dale, TX was a FANTASTIC day, with God blessing every moment. They loved Beulah (some women told Thelma they hadn't laughed that hard in years), both Thelma and I spoke on JOY, she had Benita Arterberry lead us in worship, Thelma's 16 yr. old granddaughter Alaya did 2 incredible, God-honoring raps that she wrote herself, and a clarinetist who used to play with Charlie Pride performed praise songs that brought us to tears. An INCREDIBLE day. Thelma said the engulfing of the Holy Spirit was evident, and I relate that right back to all the prayers that were said for this event. |
